Search Our Knowledge BaseA major construction project often creates increased safety risk - but not at Cabot's new Tianjin, China,
carboncarbon black facility in Tianjin, China. We're proud to say that our team completed construction and start-up of this carbon black facility without sacrificing excellence in safety performance.
In fact, Tianjin achieved 6,000,000 safe work hours on this project due to the strong safety commitment of our facility start-up team and dozens of contractors who worked on the project. This achievement is especially noteworthy since the project was completed under an aggressive construction and start-up schedule.
The Tianjin facility is a joint venture between a Cabot subsidiary and Shanghai Coking Chemical Company and has an annual capacity of 105,000 metric tons. Cabot is expanding capacity at the facility due to increased demand from the Chinese market.
