CAB-O-SIL® PTG "Polyester Thickening Grade" is a medium surface area untreated fumed silica widely used for thickening of unsaturated polyester resins.

All untreated fumed silicas are characterized by:

  • Aggregated structure

  • Hydrophilic surface

Rheology Control for Unsaturated Polyester Resins:

CAB-O-SIL PTG is widely used to provide thickening, thixotropic (shear-thinning), and anti-settling behavior in unsaturated polyester resins. The thixotropic behavior enables good penetration of the resin into the matrix during application and prevents dripping.
