CAB-O-SPERSE® aqueous dispersions are made up of fumed silica that has been pre-dispersed in water. They provide a convenient, dust-free way to incorporate fumed silica into the sulfuric acid electrolyte in lead/acid storage batteries.

Untreated fumed silica is a highly effective gelling agent for the sulfuric acid electrolyte in lead acid batteries. Fumed silica has high thickening efficiency and excellent viscosity stability in sulfuric acid, as well as low reactivity and high purity.
