CAB-O-SIL® TG-3180 is a polydimethylsiloxane, silicone fluid treated fumed silica. The surface treatment makes the particle surface extremely hydrophobic and reduces moisture adsorption.

Application Information:

CAB-O-SIL TG-3180 imparts a negative charge to toners. The extremely hydrophobic surface helps in providing stable tribocharging characteristics to the toner across a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. The large and broad particle size distribution of TG-3180 imparts moderate free-flow properties and can provide spacing between toner particles.

Other positive charging toner additives are available:

  • CAB-O-SIL TG-308F, a polydimethylsiloxane treated fumed silica with controlled small mean particle size and narrow particle size distribution, promotes very good free-flow properties
  • CAB-O-SIL ™ TG-C Series treated colloidal silica products offer excellent spacing and anti-blocking between toner particles
