CAB-O-SIL® TG-822F is a hexamethyldisilazane (HMDZ) and cyclic silazane treated fumed silica. This surface treatment gives a positive tribocharge and makes the particle surface hydrophobic and reduces moisture adsorption.

Application Information:

CAB-O-SIL TG-822F imparts a slight positive charge to toners. The extremely hydrophobic surface helps in providing stable tribocharging characteristics to the toner across a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions.

The controlled small mean particle size, approximately 10 µm, and narrow particle size distribution of TG-822F promotes better coverage of the toner particle surface with the silica and free flow properties.

Particle surface treatment and toner polymer also influence free flow performance. A range of surface treatments are available to optimize performance for each unique toner formulations.
