Abstract:

CAB-O-SIL TS-382 is a high purity, fumed (pyrogenic) synthetic amorphous silicon dioxide which has been surface-modified with an octylsilane. This treatment renders it hydrophobic, with very different properties and performance than untreated (hydrophilic) fumed silica. This light, fluffy white powder can serve in a variety of applications, e.g. as a rheology modifier, free-flow aid or reinforcing filler.
