Abstract:

CAB-O-SIL® TS-530 is a high surface area fumed silica which has been surface modified with hexamethyldisilazane. The treatment replaces some of the hydroxyls on the surface of the silica resulting in increased hydrophobicity and very different performance than untreated silica.
