Safety Health & Environmental Policy
Cabot is a global leader in Safety, Health and Environmental performance (SH&E). We are committed to integrating SH&E excellence into our business activities to ensure the safety and security of our employees, contractors, visitors, and the communities we operate in, and the environment. SH&E excellence is a core value of Cabot and we will meet or exceed all applicable SH&E and security laws, regulations and other requirements to which we subscribe such as Responsible Care®. We will operate our facilities in a manner consistent with those laws and regulations, and urgently respond to any emergency situation that may originate from our operations. We are committed to the Responsible Care® Guiding Principles and to continually improving our SH&E performance. Cabot will not be satisfied until we reach our goal of zero injuries and zero environmental non-conformances.
The following principles will guide us in our journey to zero.

We will design and operate our facilities and operations with process safety and security in mind to prevent events that could have an adverse impact on people, property and the environment.

We will provide employees with the skills, knowledge and tools that will enable them to be accountable for performing their work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

We will empower employees, contractors and visitors to proactively engage in promoting safe work practices and addressing unsafe behaviors and conditions before they result in an injury or environmental incident.

We will seek partnerships with contractors and third party providers who believe as we do, that accidents are preventable and that promoting safe work behaviors and ensuring environmental compliance is critical to achieving SH&E excellence.

We are committed to energy efficiency, minimizing waste from operations, and preventing pollution.

Our product stewardship commitment is embodied in our willingness to share relevant safety, health and environmental information with our customers and suppliers. We also commit to continually improve the understanding of our products' life cycle impacts.

We will provide our distributors, transporters and customers with complete and accurate information regarding the safe use, handling and transportation of our products.

We will review and report our SH&E performance externally while constantly challenging ourselves to do better.

We will communicate and engage with employees, regulators, the communities in which we operate, neighbors, customers and investors on our SH&E performance.

We will put into place sufficient and appropriate global standards and resources to ensure we can achieve these goals.
