A very conductive furnace process carbon black used in applications where other conductive grades cannot meet very high conductivity specifications. BLACK PEARLS 2000 also offers anti-static discharge properties for rubber compounds at very low loading.
Cabot revolutionized the industry in the mid 1950’s when it patented the process of adding potassium salts in trace amounts to the reactor. These salts prohibited the formation of "structure," allowing for the first time, the manufacture of low structure carbon blacks.
This carbon black is a pelleted furnace black and is used in tire applications including carcass, tube and inner-liner compounds. The product is ideal in tire compounding in areas where good dynamic performance is needed, with minimal heat generation in flexing, and areas where high black loadings are desirable.
A furnace carbon black used in the following industrial product applications: brake and TDI hoses, building profiles and automotive door seals. The product is a pelleted reinforcing grade with medium surface area that offers good rubber reinforcement. Its high structure allows good processing, good dimensional stability and smooth extruded surfaces.
A cost-effective carbon black that provides improved flowability in rubber compounds for high-temperature injection-molded applications and high hardness extrusion profiles. SPHERON 4000's unique morphology significantly reduces the potential for mold fouling. This can improve productivity and lower cost by reducing the need for mold cleaning in NBR.

SPHERON 5000A is one of the carbon blacks from CABOT’s "A" grade family. The surface aspect of extruded automotive profile and window channels is very important today. Class "A" automotive surface applications demand a very low level of particles that could cause visible surface imperfections leading to rejects or ‘scrap’. In response to that market requirement, a family of carbon blacks appropriately identified by the suffix "A", was developed by Cabot to address carbon black related extruded surface imperfections.
A cost-effective carbon black used in a variety of hose, extrusion and molded applications. SPHERON 6000 combines superior dispersion, high loading, excellent extrusion characteristics, high green strength and very low conductivity. It disperses faster and easier than most conventional grades, thereby shortening mix cycle times and reducing mixing passes.
One of Cabot's "A" grade carbon blacks, SPHERON 6000A is suited for the production of low viscosity compounds and low hardness articles since it disperses faster and easier than higher surface area semi-reinforcing grades. It significantly improves the compound resistance to electrochemcial degradation in radiator hose compounds without compromising on other physical or processing parameters.
SPHERON® 6400 furnace carbon black is a pelleted semireinforcing carbon black having a very low surface area per unit mass with a moderate level of particle aggregation resulting in a medium-high structure.
