Cabot has developed several types of ultra-fine, coated silver particles that can be incorporated into inks and pastes to deliver conductive features to various substrates on curing at low temperatures. These particles can be formulated into inks and pastes for standard print approaches as well as more advanced non-contact printing such as inkjet and aerosol jet printing. For printed electronics applications these materials offer advantages that include:
- Reliable ink-jet printing
- Flexible substrates
- Highly conductive lines at low temperature
- Fine-line printing
- Broad substrate capability (paper, polyester, polyimide, FR-4)
Cabot offers a general-use 20wt.% silver piezoelectric ink-jet, CCI-300, which is ideally suited to the following applications:
- Solar cell electrodes
- Display electrodes
- Digitally printed circuit boards
- Smart packaging
- Security devices
- Disposable electronics
- RFID
- Thermal interface materials
