Transfinity elastomer composites deliver far superior resistance to abrasion, wet erosion and cutting, chipping and tearing. The high durability of these materials makes them an excellent choice for wear protection where mine operators seek to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and decrease maintenance costs in the mineral processing circuit. Transfinity products can be used for wear protection in grinding mills, slurry pumps, cyclones, trommels, chute liners, dry screens and conveyor belts.
High level of durability
Rubber parts made with Transfinity materials deliver long life in demanding wear protection applications. The improved durability is enabled by a liquid phase mixing process which incorporates carbon black directly into natural rubber latex. This liquid phase mixing preserves the elastic properties of natural rubber and achieves superior dispersion of the carbon black within the polymer, creating virtually "defect free" composites that are stronger than those produced by conventional dry mixing of carbon black and dry natural rubber. The superior dispersion of carbon black and the preservation of rubber elasticity create a material that performs exceptionally well in resistance to abrasion, wet erosion, cutting, chipping and tearing.
Reduce downtime and maintenance costs
By using Transfinity materials as protective linings in mining equipment, mine operators can lengthen intervals between lining replacements thereby reducing downtime and maintenance costs. In some cases, the high strength of Transfinity products can enable the replacement of steel components with lighter rubber linings to reduce weight and simplify maintenance operations. Energy efficiency benefits can be realized when these weight reductions are achieved on moving or rotating parts.
