U-Channel glass is a self-supporting system of cast glass channels with an extruded metal perimeter frame for interior or exterior applications. Including Lumira™ insulation within the interlocking U-shaped panels offers architects the ability to design with more glass while still meeting or exceeding strict building and energy code requirements.
- Reduced materials - traditional insulation products require 40mm of thickness for results equal to 16mm of Nanogel
- Simplified installation - custom-fitted Lumira panels are centered in the U-Channel system in one step, reducing installation time and cost
- Even light diffusion - Lumira aerogel creates a soft, warm glow, eliminating glare and minimizing the effects of solar heat gain
- Permanent insulation performance - Lumira panels are hydrophobic and fully sealed eliminating moisture degradation and entrapment of dirt and particulates found with open fiber insulations
The following comparison chart shows the difference between Lumira insulation and no insulation.
