Key result areas:

• Execution of experimental program including communication and documentation of results (laboratory notebooks as well as databases). The experimental work involves the preparation of dispersions, including pigment surface modification, purification, [60%], their characterization and testing [20%].

• Organize and document results in laboratory notebook and necessary databases. Written and Oral reports as needed. [10%]

• Chemical laboratory safety and maintenance. Maintain a safe and well-organized laboratory. Work effectively with team members.[10%]

Critical Competencies:

• Ability to work independently and to draw conclusions from experimental work.

• Ability to perform independent decision making in the absence of R&D Manager or Immediate Supervisor when needed.

• Good organizational skills.

• Good communication skills in the laboratory environment.

• Cooperates well with peers.

• Good technical acumen in Chemical technology or related field.

• Ability to execute job functions consistent with expectations of Cabot HS&E culture.

Education/Experience:

• BA/BS in Chemistry or ChemE or related field and/or 3-5 years chemical laboratory experience preferred with Associates Degree in technical field.

• Experience in chemical industry, polymers, ink formulation, analytical testing and/or color science a plus.
