At Cabot, our product lines are managed according to separate business models that optimize application development and service to specific groups of customers.
- Our Reinforcement Materials Segment includes Rubber Carbon Blacks;
- Our Performance Materials Segment meets the needs of diverse and customized applications with our Specialty Carbon Blacks, Masterbatches, Conductive Compounds, as well as our Silicas and Aluminas products;

- Our Purification Solutions Segment includes our activated carbon products (formerly Norit).
We are the world's largest and most experienced producer of activated carbon, which removes pollutants, contaminants and other impurities from water, air, food and beverages, pharmaceutical products and other liquids and gases.
Cabot is the world's largest manufacturer of carbon black, offering more than 300 grades for use in tires, industrial rubber products, elastomer composites, masterbatch and specialty products, such as coatings and toners.
Silicas and Aluminas
With a 30% global market share, Cabot's silicas and aluminas are a critical ingredient for building, automotive and electronics products, where we offer a wide array of specialty and treated grades.
Cabot Specialty Fluids serves customers in the oil and gas industries with cesium formate-based drilling and completion fluids that outperform conventional fluids. This business also sells spodumene and cesium fine chemicals.
One of Cabot's newest businesses, aerogel is gaining a reputation in the construction, transportation, apparel and oil drilling industries as a global provider of aerogel-based insulation and specialty chemical solutions.
Using patented processes for the surface treatment of particles, Inkjet Colorants manufactures pigment-based colorants for the inkjet printing market, including home/small office and commercial printing applications.
Our Security Materials business produces covert taggants for the anti-counterfeiting industry. Covert taggants are invisible markers that are added to products to distinguish genuine articles from counterfeits or diverted goods.
